This my first build of the Derelict Alien Ship from the Original Alien movie.
This is only a test build and was printed on regular paper instead of cardstock. Given that, I'm already very impressed with the build so far.

This is the first 2 pieces assembled. Viewed from the bottom front.

And this is a full bottom view.

This is piece 3 added on top. Quite nice fit all around. I especially like the detail.

And here is the rear view. And my first failure due to using regular paper. I just couldn't get the last tabs to glue nicely. But I did expect this. This build is only for practice.
Next I need to add the detail rings on top. Still trying to figure out the correct order to add those. It's quite perplexing right now.
Overall, I really like the way this model is going together! I've tried to smooth out the curves to get a more natural rounded shape. And it seems to be working out fine.
I'm also considering using separate gluetabs when I build the cardstock version to eliminate the overlaps. But that will be more evident when I build the arms.
Cheers,
John Gay
