Greetings :). After a recent spate of Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica models, I decided it was about time I made another Star Trek one. I eventually plumped for the Galileo shuttlecraft from TOS and initially started work on Jörg Stammen's model, but unfortunately I had to scrap it due to serious fit problems. It was while I was looking for a replacement that I came across this page http://ift.tt/1U9KlcN where I discovered the Galileo model on Dave Winfield's site. Well, I've just finished building it so I thought I'd share it with you all. I hope you like it.
I also made a custom display stand for it:-
I made a few minor alterations to the original PDF in Photoshop, most importantly changing the blue bussard collectors to a more realistic red/orange colour. I also created an insert to fit into the other end of the warp nacelles which allowed me to add those distinctive ball things which, according to an Okudagram I've seen, are the secondary warp field generators. I reprinted the PDF a couple of times as well, and cut out a few bits and pieces to add relief to some parts. I realise that the model isn't 100% accurate but I think it's a very good representation of the 'real' thing and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out :).
