Unser Racing Museum May 2015. Lots of open wheel race cars, was sort of rushed so

didn't get to the other building that had the antique cars. Figure the unique thing was the race cars so maybe another day. Its only about 8 hours over there and there are some other stuff I'd like to get to also, so maybe this summer will get back for the rest.

As a sample, a Ford 4 cam in a Grant King dirt chassis built in 1969 and won all the 1 mile dirt races in 1970. Then was when they were still part of the Champ Car circuit. I think this was about the last year for that and a year or so before NASCAR quit running any dirt races for the Cup cars. About the time both series starting going downhill grumbles the old dinosaur before he crawls back into his dirt floored cave and remembers when real race car drivers had to be able to sling a car into a corner. Speaking of dinosaurs, it was big, loud and fast, just not real dependable and scared the hell out of most drivers: the Novi. When Pikes Peak was Unser's Mountain: Bobby's 4 L powered Jaguar unlimited. Parnelli Jones Colt Johnny Lightening that probably had 10 million die casts made of it. Penske PC23 with the 'Mercedes' pushrod engine that took advantage of a rules loophole. Offenhauser what other race engine had a 50 year career at the top of the heap? Enjoy!!
