I'm starting a build of Murph's Models Mi-24 Hind models, available from Murph's Models - Mil Mi-24 Hind. Aaron currently has two Mi-24D models and one Mi-24A model available. I have shrunk these models 64% to have them at 1/72 scale. I've also tweaked the colors to better match the photos I have found online. I'm using internal joining strips to join the parts together. Other than the colors the models will be stock builds.
This is not a model to be rushed. There are several small pieces and complex shapes to make. The nose has the most parts and curves so that's where I will begin. The canopy takes some care and time to form correctly, as does the first few sections of the nose. Jim Nunn's paper stretcher helps to form the short section that joins the nose section to the main fuselage. I had to trim the upper fuselage/engine section slightly to achieve a good fit. The wedges cut from the upper fuselage are just a little too big so the section has too much of a hump to mount to the main fuselage. That's all for now, have to go earn a paycheck.
