there are lots of Spitfire models about, from MK.I to the very last variants and even the "Floatfire" (Spitfire on floats) has recently been published, thanks to Marek. Looks like a superb kit: Got it printed already, will be my next project.
Sadly, the Spitfire as an important recce plane of the ETOW is hardly ever considered as a modeling subject. Many consider the MK.XI, which was derived from the MK.IX fighter as the purest in the whole breed due to the "clean" wings without guns and the unarmored windscreen. Also, the PRU blue overall paint scheme does a lot to enhance the beautiful lines of this bird.
Yes. I know there is a PR.Mk.XIX in swedish marks available via Gremirmodels, but this one is Griffon powered and a different thing. As beautiful as it looks at first glance, many details have not been too thoroughly researched: Camera ports in the fuselage are wrongly positioned, cockpit interior lacks camera actuators and more.
Anybody willing to produce the PR.MK.XI variant? Would be great! As I collected some documentation over the years, I would be pleased to help out with this.
