I found a site with paper models of old Chinese shops for sale. They actually look like they might be made of thin foam core. They look interesting and are the first completely original paper model kits from the mainland that I have found. According to the maker they can be assembled successfully by both males and females providing that they are students.
There are four models in the series including a tea-shop, restaurant, tavern and what looks like a brewery with a stack of casks.
