Now, this is my latest.
The kit is by Betexa and unfortunately has a few of my pet dislikes - glossy paper, fold lines that don't indicate if they are valley or hill folds, the parts are printed on double pages which leaves a fold line and staple holes on a few parts, although most are in areas that are hidden. The fit is good but in places a little "out" - see the join between the tower and the walkway. I have to paint them but left them visible for the pics.
Thankfully, these do not detract much from the build process. Anyway we have visited the castle so I had to build it.
The castle is in the South Eastern part of the Czech Republic, I'm not sure if it's far enough East to be described as the region of Bohemia.
There are over 400 castles and mansions in CZ and we sketched out a 10 day tour of the country, just to visit a selected number of them. GPS hadn't become popular - or didn't exist but we managed. I just checked my photos and found we visited in 2004! How time flys!!
In case you are wondering, the entrance is high up the wall in the last picture and was reached by a ramp from the gate house.
The model is just over a foot (30cm) tall and sits on a base 14X12 inches (30x35cm)
Cheers
Mike
