The theme at this year's Army Heritage Days at the USAHEC in Carlisle, PA is the War in Vietnam, and that inspired me to build this M113A1 - my first 'modern' military vehicle.
Designer Sergey Kamotsky of Robototehnik did a fantastic job with this kit. The fit of the parts is spot on, as always, but what really elevates the model to another level is the photo realistic texture. I did a little extra layering beyond what's included in the kit, but I really could have done even more. At some point, you just have to say "that's enough".
I chose an illustration of a Vietnamese village for the background, and a matching dirt road for the base groundwork. The photos are passable, but don't really do the model justice - I'm proud of this one.
