The Israeli airforce "French era "

Background to the "French Era ".
In the 50's there was a strong need for jet fighters every where in the world as the transition from WW2 propeller driven fighters to Jets was in high gear.
In the early 50's the Israeli airforce was very busy in finding available jets. GB was willing to sell 12 Meteors that were supplied in 1953 - but by then the Meteor was considered an old design. The Americans didn't want to supply weapons to the Middle East countries and an embargo was enforced on the region.
The help came from France. France was the only nation that was willing to sell Jet fighters to
Israel at the time. The first jet that France sold to Israel was the Ouragan in 1955. This is where the "French era" story begins.

I put here pics of the French jet fighters that served with the IAF :
Ouragan MD 450 , Mystere IVa MD 454 , Sncso 4050 Vautor , Super Mystere B2 , Mirage IIIC
and IAI Sa'ar.
Will be continued.
