Overcast this morning in Texas City, with low, ragged clouds. So when I heard jet engines, I didn't think I'd be able to see anything. Still, I glanced up, to see one of the B-57Fs slowly slipping through the clouds. Now, I'm only about 20 miles south of NASA's big Houston complex, and we know that that's the only agency still using the aircraft. Nevertheless, it was sort of spooky, like a slow-motion bat sneaking around. Sure hope that the plane's air-sampling role is not any omen of bad developments in our area.
