Sketchup

I'm a newbie to paper modeling and am fascinated by a number of Victorian house 3d models on SketchUp such as this one:

That said, many have high face/edge/poly counts. Has anyone been successful in taking a highly detailed model and working with it in Pepakura?

I may be describing my dilemma incorrectly or perhaps this is covered on another thread or maybe it's impossible?
