Card or photo paper?

I know this has been answered a billion times but I'm still confused as to what I'm reading while searching for answers. If your a beginner and you found your starter project, have it downloaded and are ready to print..... And all you can find in the download instructions are recommended paper matte what the heck do you print it on?

Matte as far as I can tell is not a paper weight but a dull or flat finish. Should I print it out on matte photo paper and then glue it to some card?

I apologize in advance for asking this for the billionth and one time.
