do oil paint and paper work together ?

hi guys

so i'm kinda out of options here for paint

acrylic completely ruins the paper and the only other option that i used was permanent marker but this wont work for fine details

so i've been thinking will oil paint work for paper i have a rather large pack (like 35 or 40 colors) of oil paint i actually used it but it was a rather small area of paper to cover and with not much details in said area

will it work for a paper model like this one
or will it be too thick

the only issue i have with oil paint is that it takes a long time to dry but that shouldn't be a big issue

so enough talking will it work or not
