Found some stuff that goes on thick and kind of gives a porcelain looking finish to a paper model. It is Americana Triple Thick Brilliant Brush-on Gloss Glaze. Purchased a while back at Hobby Lobby in an 8 fl.oz./236 ml bottle.
Brush strokes can be noticeable when the stuff dries. It helps a lot to seal the model with a light spray of sealer to keep the ink from smearing when you apply the glaze.
Tried to snap a photo of a treated model to show the effect, but can not get the lighting correct to show the reflection. I ain't got one of them faincy picture takin' thangs, just a plain old one whut fits in me pocket.:)
