Incompetance

Hi everyone
I have been a member for some years now, and I have downloaded many models. I love looking at plans, and can spend all evening with a stack of them.

I have proven myself to be on the wrong side of "Useless" when it comes to building them. I cannot think why I am so incompetent. I think I panic when I try and build. My brain goes into "I can't do it" overload.
I have tried for years with designs from here and fiddler's green but I have yet to make one worth keeping. I can convert four pages of exquisite drawings into the aftermath of a heavy cold and a box of tissues in only five hours of painstaking labour.
When I started flying R/C models there was a thing called a "Buddy box" system where one person who was good stood by with another transmitter so that if the novice was about to destroy the Earth they could take control and prevent armaggedon.
What I'm hoping is, is there someone out there who would talk me through a simple build, doesn't have to be an aircraft, anything will do. All I want is to get past this lack of confidence.
