Paper modeling; back in the day

I'm not sure that this is the right place, but here is the story. I 1961, I was a married 2/LT in the USAF, making $222.40 a month. Need-less-to-say, I did not have a lot of money to spend on hobbies. I had one HO freight train that I built in high school (while Dad was paying the bills:)). I wanted to build a small layout, but kits were too expensive. So I got this idea of how I could build paper buildings for very low investment. You could send off to Readers Digest and get full elevation drawings of houses for $0.25 per copy. Here is the plan of one that I never finished.
