My usual way of cooking bacon was to put the bacon in a skillet then turn on the heat and cook. Lots of grease splatter. I saw a cooking show that used water so I tried it. No splatter and some plump and tasty bacon.
You start with a cold skillet. Place the bacon in a single layer trying not to overlap. Add just enough water to cover the bacon. Place the skillet over high heat until the water boils then reduce the heat to medium until the water simmers away. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook the bacon to desired crispness.
