I present to you the classic T-bucket, turtle back, flat-head powered low boy rockabilly hot rod roadster.
I downloaded this one page kit a number of years ago from here: the KANALHA'S: Hot Rod Kanalha's !!
I'm not really sure what the Brazilian Kanalha's organization is all about, but it looks like they sponsor a lot of BBQs and hot rod shows, and just like to have an all around good time.
I did a little photoshop customization to Americanize the car just a bit, eliminating the Kanalha's graphics and adding a "Lucky 13" logo to the sides of the body, and a Speed Demon to the rear deck. I also toned down the bright red interior to a more brownish color. The kit didn't have a windshield, so I trimmed a piece of cardstock to shape, colored it with a silver Sharpie, and glued on a piece of clear plastic from behind. For strength, I also laminated the bottom plate to 1mm cardboard.
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, although I wish now that I had narrowed the width of the tires to give it more of a classic 50's appearance.
I placed the model on an olive wood trivet for the photo session. Check out the last picture - creepy, huh?
