Working on some buildings for a client's GN Montana layout. I decided to do four buildings at once, which saves time. I won't be showing off all of the build here, because the walls of the building are going to be basswood -- but the roof and chimneys are mostly cardstock.
The shingles are modified Clever Models textures printed on acid-free craft paper. I cut them in strips, then slice the individual shingles with a plastic jig I built. They're glued onto some heavy black museum board. I rule the museum board with an old Ames Lettering Guide and a very hard pencil.
