On the 30th of May, I again hit the road for a weekend road trip with my youngest son,
this time to Grapevine, TX, for the Region 6 IPMS Regional contest.
As winning anything here would eliminate the Fokker D.VIII from further competitions,
I did not enter it here.
However, as several of my models needed to compete at a higher level, I
entered them.
Results follow....
In the plastic category of Rotorcraft, all scales all eras (ASAE), the AH-1
placed third.

In Misc, the IJA Type 94 also placed third.

In the plastic category of Aircraft, 1/72 and smaller, the Spad SA-2 was awarded a 2nd place.
In addition, the Spad was also chosen as the winner of the Lester Hetzel Memorial Award as
the Best Pre WWII aircraft.

As this was a Regional contest, I walked away happy just getting something!
I was in no way expecting anything like this!
