After months of you should build the titanic from my daughters, well they like the movie, and I think it is the only ship they know the name of. I sent away for the JCS version and the laser detail set due to lack of work space. Armed with the book RMS Titanic a Model makers Manual I set to work. Looking at the sheets, the frames looked oddly shaped, when compared with the lines my book, I noticed that the frames had about 3.5mm tumble home when should be only be 0.5mm.
After making the triangular back bone, I modified the frames 11 to 18 to have straighter sides. The base width was narrowed to match. The whole hull looked long and narrow and because I wasn't sure how much twist it would have, I glued the base to 1mm card. The base was then double sided taped to a strip of 18mm melamine so I can move the model around without handling it too much. The frames and back bone was assembled and fixed to the base.
