Henschel Hs 132- another hotel build

I decided to do another Luft 46 aircraft in 1/48 scale while in Montreal on TDY.

This time it is the Henschel Hs 132 jet powered dive bomber from Eric Son in 1/48 scale. I always admired Eric's simple approach and attractive designs and this one is certainly a good one. I especially like the color scheme selected ( a copy of the famous Ju-87B Stuka dive bomber with the red snake on the side ).

A quick aircraft info

This aircraft actualy is not a fantasy plane. It was built and at least one aircraft and some additional sub assemblies were made in 1945 before the end of the war.

The aircraft resembles a Heinkel He-162 with the twin tail and engine podded on top. The main difference is that the pilot was in a prone position. The primary reason ( so they thought ) was that the pilot can withstand more G forces being prone rather than sitting down. maybe so, but you get such a neck pain that after 10 minutes, you are "paralyzed" and can move your head any more ( definitely not up or down ).

Here is a little more about this little dive bomber:

and a picture of the bird in 1945 ( with a little airbrushing ).
