In my stash I've got a number of older (hand drawn) models of 1/25 armour subjects. The kits don't really compare to modern offerings so I thought a way to use these models might be to rescale to 1/50 and get a fairly challenging model to build without the simplifications that are usual in 1/50 scale.
Thought I'd try a fairly big model - Modelik (Modelcard) 2S7 Pion (Peony)
- 203mm SPG. This is a pretty big vehicle and comes as an A3 booklet. Scaling down to 1/50 conveniently produces A4 sized pages.
The 2S7 is still in service with the Ukrainian Army. It's one of the most powerful SPGs built - http://ift.tt/1xiXl2R - the muzzle blast is so intense there are warning tones to alert the crew to take cover before the gun fires.
