332nd Tuskegee Airmen Red Tails P47 Thunderbolts

Sorry to take so long to release these...

they have been ready for quite some time now.

Two new Thunderbolts.

These two kits honour the Tuskegee Airmen 332nd FG.

Before they were known as the "Red Tails"...before the final formation of the composite (Tuskegee Airmen) 332nd...

the 332nd FG based in Italy (in 1944) transitioned from P-39s to P-47s...acquiring its first Thunderbolts as hand-me-downs

from the 325th FG. Not all the P47s retianed their Olive Drab over Gray paint schemes, some were stripped of colour.

And its know, at least one aircrcaft had its checkered tail artwork (325th) painted over with red paint.

This may have been the first "Red Tail" 332nd aircraft.

I've created two 332nd Jugs, in both O.D over Gray paint and bare metal finish, with the overpainted red tails.

Markings are as they would have been from the 325th, with no aircraft idents. (Serials were of course painted over on the tails)

Both kits are up now at http://ift.tt/1ydbr7D

and at ecardmodels...
