the old Halinski Wildcat

Working slowly on the Halinski wildcat, I like the plane alot and the early WWII colors and markings. This kit is reminiscent of the early H P-38 in design and instructions, although I'm building it a bit altered, am using similar methods as later models using single formers in fuse, none in nose to make room for a regular radial, left a few parts off the engine as am going to glue on the cowl. (in the front row left off the valve cover tops concerned about fit, turns out to have plenty of room for the radial from the Orlik P-47) Tim Crowe's recent build is helpful, as instrtions for Halinski don't look like what we're used to (stared when the P-39 came out?). The design of the gear supports is nice and one does need to use the double formers to build the fore and aft center cockpit. Hoping to be able to find time to keep going ...
