I've started a new project over the last couple of weeks.
Here's a summary of the work done so far:
First, I created a low poly model of the plane using the 3-view diagram from Luft46.com as the guide.
After the low-poly model, I let Metaseq produce the wireframes. From there, I used the Knife tool and lots of Boolean Ops to simplify the wireframe and make it Pepakura friendly.
Unfolding and UV-Mapping.
Texturing/ skinning.
Originally, I wanted to do a winter camo pattern with the squiggly lines. But the squiggly lines kinda killed the details of the joints/seams on the plane. So I took them off.
Test build!
I'll post more pictures as I progress with the build.
The scale is 1:48, by the way.
