In the words of the infamous Monty Pythons Flying Circus, "And now for something completely different". This is my first venture into the world of paper model railroading, and I have to tell you I'm having a lot of fun with this. I first purchased RXR's F units from ecard models, and then proceeded to redraw (in svg format) and then re-colour. My first scheme is a CNR F-3 converted to a F-7 unit that I found a lot of photo material for.
On my redraw, I added few more details, including cutting out the windows and installing clear plastic. A more ambitious and talanted person could really do the model justice by creating the interior cab.
This was a simple build, and the instructions that are provided are extremely detailed (you definitely don't need a hack like myself to show you how to build these models). I am just finishing the 'B' unit redraw, and the moving on to a repaint of Canadian Pacific Orange paint scheme for these units.
I had so much fun, I went an purchased the SD units, passenger coach and , 4-6-2 steam locomotive too. I will be adding them to my train!
The great part about the svg format is the scalability, so I can increase or decrease the model quickly and easily. I highly recommend purchasing these if you are ooking for some fun.
Enjoy the photos!
