I thought I'd share a few pics of my recently completed Mech Commander II Starslayer battlemech designed by vlmarshall and available for free download over at the mechwarrior3 community project forum.
I've built about a dozen of these MC2 'mechs, and each one has given me hours of modelling pleasure. They're well designed, with not too many parts for a lazy modeller like me. The skins aren't too exciting by today's standards, but they're taken right from the vintage game, and illustrate the improvement of graphics in the gaming world over the years.
In the Battletech universe, the Starslayer was a medium weight 'mech of 50 tons. It was armed with 2 large lasers, a SRM 4, 2 medium lasers, and a single small laser. I can't find the small or medium lasers on this kit, or on the die cast mini.
I modified the skin by adding the insignia of the 1st Battlemech Rgt, and the serial # 02. Other than those small changes, it was built stock. Everything fit perfectly, as I've come to expect with vlmarshall's models. June has been a prolific month for me. Enjoy the pics.
