Hi to all, I've reached a bit of a milestone in my latest card modelling venture and attach some photos as a record before I drop it on the floor!
This little building was one of my most ambitious efforts at measuring and drawing victorian railway structures which was an early and lasting interest of mine in the mid 1960s.
Now, some 50 years later and retired, I have used my drawings which were published in the February 1976 issue of Railway Modeller at the requisite scale - for anyone interested, the full set and article is on Flikr.
It's a tricky little project because of the fine cut decorative stonework structure and detailing of the original; most of the building corners are bevelled and have finials with balls and other spiky features on their upper corners but the project has reinforced my long held view that the requisite thickness of card, paper and blobs of pva will represent pretty much anything in the smaller scales.
Hope this is of interest, the next stage is the passenger shed at the back, the outline of which shows on the rear views of the model.
Cheers Chris
