PBY-2 Catalina (1:50)

This is my build t take a break from the boat development project.
Scale's 1:50. 10 A4 sheets. Instructions are of course in Polish; I have decided to sacrifice their literary value and ran them through Google Translate.
My favorite part of the result is "The glue on the upper part of the skeleton is glued (strips on which are part numbers of the plating). For these plywood we adhere properly formed parts of sewing successively from A8 and Al 6L and Al Bp according to mounting drawing 5."
The diagrams are pretty good though.

Here's where it's at now:

I'll post more photos once some exciting plating is glued :p

Just 39 of them

Hi friends,

Both display-cabinets are full. One more glass closet shelf had to be cut in order to store my second Connie.
The first one stayed behind in a previous life.
Since building (a necessity following a finished drawing) has become a lesser pleasure the drawing of a model automatically is not as attractive as before.
Therefore I decided to shut down my domain and send my models into the world via a free account.
In order to prevent finding a model back amidst a heap of commercials a thought it wise to ask for some personal information from anyone interested.
Hope they will find cosy accomodations.

Best regards, Gerard

Less of "The Right Stuff"

The Right Stuff will always be my most favorite (Space? Non Sci-Fi) movies.

yes, I know...its not perfectly accurate in many ways.
What movie/screenplay ever is.
But I think its very faithful to the achievements of early American space travel and makes you feel very proud of what man has accomplished.
And its a very cool movie!!

I was saddened to hear of Sam Shepards passing at age 73.
I've seen him in many movies, but I always loved his portrayal of Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff.

I didn't know he had Lou Gehrigs disease.

It feels almost like losing one of the real Astronauts or Aviation Heroes.
Isn't that weird.

Gary Pilsworth's Piper PA-23 Apache

Here's my latest from the Pilsworth General Aviation Design Factory, the Piper PA-23 Apache. It's a free download here: http://ift.tt/2f1cCYJ.

Like all of Gary's models, it goes together well. It has ten pages of parts and one page of instructions. There's several bulkheads in the fuselage but no wing spar. It has an interior, but since I shrunk the model down to 1/48 scale I opted for the solid windows. Bird shot was added to the nose to keep her on her toes rather than her a**. I only made two minor adjustments. I made the tires (oops, tyres, sorry Gary) more narrow by cutting the center sections half width. I then added paper cylinders behind the prop hubs so the props can be removed and rotated.

The web site is currently showing 135 people have downloaded this model. Time for some of you to get building and post your photos. I'm talking to you, Edubarca. ;)

Cheers, I have a couple of Airbus airliners calling me to get built.

Whoa! I had no idea this even existed. How could you even sell a stolen item like this? Or even if one kept it, it could never be shown, I would think.

ModelFan F-16A Fighting Falcon 1/33 (recolor and redesign)

It's been quite some time since I began working on this kit. The simplicity of its build impressed me a lot.

Attachment 321628 Attachment 321629Attachment 321630 Attachment 321631

Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about its level of detail. Original panel lines look awful, almost in a cartoonish way, but worst of all, they aren't correctly aligned, not mentioning the fact that some panel lines are missing. Nose shape is incorrect in almost everything.

Attachment 321632 Attachment 321633

Another urgent matter is related to the engine nozzle. The one designed for the kit doesn't look exactly like a real Pratt & Whitney F-100-PW-200

Attachment 321634

So I thought to myself: Fine, let's see if I can do something about it instead of just complaining hehehe! And here are some good (ok, not that good :P) results:

Now I guess this F-16A looks way more "Falcon-ish" than before, but there's still a lot of work to do. Cockpit layout and canopy goes next. This is the beta build test, so suggestions are welcome!
