Fiddler's Green Sopwith Tabloid

Hi, here is the Sopwith Tabloid from Fiddler's Green. Another fun model to build. My wife saw it and said it looked like a cartoon so I guess it falls into the cartoonish category but I like it never the less. It is 1/60 scale.
The Sopwith Tabloid first flew in 1913 as a sports plane. It was called the Tabloid due to its small size for the day.
Its excellent performance made it a candidate for the Schneider Trophy races. A set of floats was added and it went on to win the 1914 race.
It was later used by the military during the early years of WW1
The first Tabloids used wing warping, including the Schneider Trophy plane. This model has ailerons printed on the wings, but they were used until later models.

The model comes coloured an orangish yellow and blue. It looks nice but is nothing close to the original. I used the black and white file and printed on a piece of Manila folder.I added some gray to simulate the front metal part and some brown for the prop and struts. It was hard to judge the colour as it came out different on the buff coloured Manila folder. So the brown was more orange than I had planned. I tried to make the floats just a little darker than the rest but the came out a darker yellowish colour. Were I to make it again I would leave them buff.
I cut the struts a little longer than printed, cut slits in the wing and fuselage and inserted them to give a stronger joint. I also laminated them to make them a little thicker.
It took a couple of goes to get the wings right. If I tried to match the trailing edges top surface to bottom surface they came out very thick and a bit twisted.
In the end I rolled the surfaces to shape and then folded and glued them where they fell. It left about a mm to trim of the top surface of each wing but they look good and even this way.
I considered adding some rigging but the style looks fine without so I left it off.
