I just finished building this free download of the Soviet ZiS 42 half-track artillery prime mover from WWII. As usual, I did a minor Photoshop recolor of the kit: I improved the look of the canvas cargo cover, the window glass, and added a few extra details (underslung spare tire, towing hitch, mud flaps, insignia and slogan). I also got rid of the light blue areas on the original kit which were supposed to indicate empty space in the half track suspension. I thought they detracted from the look of the model.
The build was straightforward, and everything fit together very well. I did a little laminating and layering here and there for a better look. The finished model is mounted on a paper base.
