Mil Mi-171 Hip: my attempt.

The ubiquitous Hip needs no introduction; the visiting card of Russian aviation technology, this choppers been in production for like 50+ years and in 3 generations. The latest generation Hips are built separately by Ulan Ude Aviation plant and Kazan, with most of them featuring 2 cabin doors instead of the original one, updated engines and avionics, and rear ramp and dolphin nose occasionally.

The Mi-171 is the Ulan Ude plant's export version of the Mi-8AMT which features hydraulically operated, inflight deployable rear ramp instead of the original clamshell cargo doors while retains the original glass-nose.

The kit a.k.a the template has its roots in the GPM Mi-17 kit; I basically tried to simplify the kit to reduce the number of parts while improvising others.

As is the case, there has been some hiccups during the build . you can also see two of my first-gen-Hip builds in the pic :)
