RN Tigre 1/200 scratchbuild

Hi everyone,

having a little of spare time this summer, I started to build the "Regio esploratore Tigre" of the Royal Italian Navy. The five strong Leone class were a series of explorer ship (sort of light cruiser used for observation of the enemy fleet) that were obsolete since the invention of the airplane. Only three of them were completed and they were practically a lengthen Mirabello class. Built in the middle of the 20's, these ships were "downgraded" to destroyers in 1938, upgraded with air conditioner and sent to AOI "Africa Orientale Italiana" (= Ethiopia). During WWII they tried in several occasions to intercept the British convoy on the Red Sea, claiming 6 sunk ships (none confirmed by the Royal navy). On the 2nd of April 1941, all the Italian ships on the Red Sea tried a one way attack on Port Said, intercepted by 70 British bombers, all the destroyers were sunk. Tigre and Pantera went onshore and scuttled by the crew, even if the destroyer Kingston found them sinking and "helped" them with some shots.

These are the rendering of the 3d model
