A Japanese Dou

Yesterday I started a new project.
A Japanese Dou from Epson.
This is the armour of Sanada Yukimura (1567-1615).
The project consists of 30 pages and will be about 14" tall.

Start by building the display box that the armour will be perched upon.
This is pretty much a straight simple box structure.

Next we started constructing the first piece of the armour, the Haidate.
These are actually a front and back laminated. To simplify the construction and since they are mirrored. I scribed a centre line between the front and back, glued and folded over. Then placed in the press to cure.
Once dry the pieces were edge coloured, matching the fabric pattern. They were then folded and applied to the top of the box.

This is where I am at.
Thank you for following.
Questions and comments welcome.
