Cleveland Balsa Airplane Plans

Just a quick note that Cleveland Airline Models is selling their plans at 30% off from now through Jan 31.

http://ift.tt/2gHsmzn

I bought a couple of plans recently that I digitized and sent to Aaron in hopes of them getting designed in paper.

Tarps ect.

I visit a sight for tank restoration and they have some interesting modeling articles, this is pretty decent abd I thought I would post a link here.

The potential for making uniform jackets etc this way appealed too.

B-17 Flying Fortress film clips!

Here is an early Christmas present for all the B-17 fans out there.

http://ift.tt/2gxo6j0

This is a nice selection of both vintage and modern film clips of B-17s. Many are from Warner Bros. featuring clips from such films as “Air Force” and “Desperate Journey”. These clips show actual B-17s as well as some special effects shots with models of varying accuracy. The shark fin stuff from “Air Force” is particularly interesting. There are also some really neat films of Y1B-17s in natural metal and OD over neutral gray camouflage. Be sure to take a look at the interesting film of a B-17G strung up between a couple of towers at the Aberdeen Proving Ground (with a T-34/85 tank sitting nearby) for explosives tests.

Who am I kidding, it's all really great stuff! Enjoy!

P.S. Check out the (very hot!) French fashion model setting a free-fall parachute jumping record from a B-17 in Brazil on page 2!

Aeg j.1 - 1/32

This AEG J.1 is a scratch built and dates from 1996. The basic data was taken from a Windsock magazine. It included some pictures, scale drawings (1/72 and 1/48) and the color profile that you can see in the magazine cover. As always, I made pencil drawings at 1/32 scale, to define all the dimensions and shape needed to design the real parts.
One of the detail pictures shows well the hand-made painting, which stood 20 years! Some pen markers fade with time but it was not the case here. The gouache paint and china ink lines seem virtually immune to time, which is great.

Fictional spacecraft »Cobalt Blue Cylinder« (2015/T. Pleiner/Perry Rhodan Fan Centre)

This interesting concept was designed by me in May 2015, based upon
a drawing by von Alfred Kelsner.
Simple cylindrical and conical shapes form this model od a spacecraft
in overall »cobalt blue«...
The more interestinmg feature is the graphic decoration ... :-)

WH40K Bombard

I just finished this Warhammer 40K siege mortar designed by Patoroch (Vadim Davydkov). Originally laid out in 1/60 scale on A4 paper, I had to shrink the parts pages a bit to fit on letter sized paper, so my model is 1/67 scale.

I used Photoshop to create a more interesting skin. The "nose art" cartoon is a female Imperial Guard Commissar. I love building these WH40K vehicles. All the laminating and layering results in really impressive looking finished models, sure to elicit the open mouthed "I can't believe it's paper" reaction.

Zio's Agincourt figures

I need help.
Before Zio Prudenzio's site went down, I downloaded several of what I thought were mounted figures. I just discovered that what I have is the horses, but not the riders.

Can someone help me with copies of any of these figure files? If you can help, send me a PM and I'll give you my email address.

Allaume de Garpennes
Charles d'Albert
Charles de Boutery
Comte de Beaufort
Comte de Blaumont
Earl of Oxford
Henry V of England
Jacques de Dampierre

I hope Zio's files have been archived somewhere. They were too wonderful to be lost forever.

Sheepishly,
--David

Santa gets a new thread

I know, the title is a bad pun, but I just had to print it. My wife has a miniature Santa collection, but she does not have a PAPER Santa. Thus, I decided to build the Canon Santa Claus, Sleigh and Reindeer combo kit. Since I have never attempted a paper figure before, I thought that I would give you all a little entertainment as I struggle through this build. (No egg throwing, please). I have begun with Santa's head (as suggested in the kit). The first photo shows what I am trying to achieve and the second photo shows where I am at the moment. I will be updating daily, because I have to have it finished by Christmas Eve (it's a gift). Yeah, I know, it's a free kit (OK, so I'm cheap!):)

Castle »Baerenfels« (Bear's rock) 1/250 H. Siegmund (1982 Schreiber Bogen|Aue Verlag)

... this little model showing a typical medieval european castle was first
published 1982 in three parts in Schreiber's Youth Magazine »Teddy«.
(One year after I took over Hubert Siegmund's job as card model designer
for more than a decade.)
The model »Baerenfels« (Bear's Rock Castle) has NO certain archetype in
reality, but shows all the typical architectual structures a medieval central
european castle contains ... in that way its an idealized model.

Inspite the 1/200 scale the model is not very detailed, therefore it took
only one day to assemble it.
The cardmodel »Baerenfels« is still in the regular Schreiber Bogen portfolio.

Enjoy 11 fast motion pictuers showing the assembly ...
