Pultruded carbon

I've been working with some pultruded carbon fiber rods and I was thinking they'd be useful for certain models if you're not opposed to mixed-media constructions. In particular, I could see some of these rods being used for reinforcing the edges of solar panels on spacecraft models, or embedded within the struts of landing gear on aircraft, or masts on ships. They come in a variety of shapes (round, flat, square cross-sections) and sizes.
