Calendar Stops at December 2015

Just noticed that the main calendar display does not go beyond December 2015. There is a small calendar showing January 2016. The Jump to month dropdown does not list 2016.:)

Name your price....

I really have to get rid of some of the models so name your price and no reasonable offer will be refused. Shipping cost of course will be extra, but for larger purchase I can cover the cost. So here it goes:

HMS Victory

Not strictly a card model in the conventional sense, but I got this for Christmas and thought you might like to see it:-

A fairly simple kit really, but it builds into quite an impressive model I think. HMS Victory is something of a special ship to me, not just because I'm a patriotic Englishman, but also because the real thing is just 5 miles or so away from me at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard :).

You can find the link to view some more photos on my website.

Airway Beacon 41

Gang,

"And now, for something completely different...."

This was my Washington, DC blizzard project: Airway Beacon 41 in Ottawa Co, Oklahoma circa 1935. It's one of Aaron's Oddballs, now available at Ecardmodels. I believe the scale is 1/68 or so.

I didn't do much other than cut out all those *&^%$#@ triangles on the tower and rectangles on the ladder. I kitbashed the generator fuel tank from plastic parts and wound up painting the entire tower with acrylics.

Long before radar, VORs, DMEs, etc., this is how pilots, navigated long-distance air routes. At Beacon 41, the large concrete arrow pointed toward Oklahoma City. More info on this FB page: http://ift.tt/1QQICti

1/50 Panzer II Lynx

I just completed this little tank, and I thought I'd share a few pics. The PanzerSpahWagen II Ausf. L was a heavily modified Panzer II light tank used in a scout or recon role on both fronts. A little over 100 were produced before the war ended. It carried a 3 man crew, and was armed with a 20mm cannon and a single 7.92mm machine gun. It was wider, longer, and heavier than its namesake, and equipped with overlapping/interleaved road wheels similar to that of Panzer Vs and VIs.

This 1/50 kit was designed by Ivan Suhopokov (sp?) and is a free download over at the VK paper tank community ????????? 1/50 | 67 photos | VK

The base is made from paper with an oak texture. The groundwork is simple - some static grass, a couple of pebbles, and some bits of gnarly looking root fibers with ground foam "foliage".

Control towers

Hello,
Two control towers both completed last year
The first one is more or less in 1:72 is very basic with two plasticmodels of a P51D Mustang and a P40N Kittyhawk.
The second one in 1:144 is the typical tower as seen in many war movies: one for all Menphis Belle.

Dutch pinas 1671

Hi,
I'm relatively new here. I am reading these pages for a couple of years and gave some useless comments but never posted a thread. For a couple of reasons. First of all I' m not so good that I think anyone could learn something from my adventures and secondly because I am a lousy photographer.

Nevertheless I want to share some recent experiences with you. I have made cardboard models for most of my life and found great reassurance in them especially if all parts fitted. I still am a fan of most Polish kit producers. Then I saw the threads by Doris, Tatasam, Firdajan2 and many others building ships. Modelships have been my profession most of my life so I thought I could give it a try using drawings I made years ago (see Ojos. Total Visual Communications Solution).
I know I will never even touch the level of the people I mentioned above but I still thought maybe someone would like what I am doing, so here we are…

The ship I am building is a typical Dutch merchant vessel from the 17th century. It was 134 feet long (about 38 meters), had 24 guns, a crew of about a hundred men and loaded about 400 tons. It was used both in European waters and transatlantic and the Eastindian Company used comparable (but wider) ships.

Next time I hope to tell some more about the techniques I use.

Revell modeling

Hi!

While I am currently on hiatus with my paper model building, I bought some Revell models really cheap and I'm about to build one. I was wondering if anyone knows about some good sites, blogs or forums that cover mainly plastic model building, especially revell models? :)

FG B17 Rescue

My Fiddlers Green B17. I flush joined most of the joins instead of overlapping them. Painted the Aluminium area's with Vallejo silver and using a black pen drew the panel lines back on. Paper clip gun barrels. Realized I haven't painted the astro bubble in front of the windscreens. I used a build up of glue instead of the paper one. It's not perfect but I'm happy with it. Also, just need to fit the small spinners to the centre of the props. Daryl.

Spaceship design of the 50ties

This is an odd request, I know. Still, I would like to see some of the spacraft concepts of the early "space age". I'm speeking of the Wehrner Von Braun concept published on Colliers and painted by Bonestell. There are a few available as plastic kits but a 1:96 in paper... That's the thing! Oh yes, I have tried it and fall as a stone. I have to admidt my shortcomings and trow the glove of challenge to people that master the art of papercraft...
