Hello there,
i recently started working on this paper model from AXM paper models.
The reason is that i wanted an ISS model tha was as accurate as possible compared to the real thing and also big enough to be impressive.
Since the Revell model has many flaws i decided to go with this paper model, scaling it up to 1/72 scale as it will go on an exhibit next year alongside other models in the same scale.
The problem is that i'm a newbie of paper modeling and this one is a real challenge.
If there is someone here who already built it and would like to help me it would be appreciated :)
As today,i've completed the Russian segment with an ATV and i'm working on the central section of the station, specifically on Harmony,Unity,Kibo and Columbus. The problem i have is that there are no indications on how to connect this modules together, because instructions provided on the website explain how to build the modules as payloads for the space shuttle, they are not meant to consider all modules as part of one huge structure. Maybe they should be updated...
As i go on with the building i'm realizing their structure is kind of weak and they need to be reinforced inside with piece of wood or an additional layer of paper,to prevent any structural failure while handling them.
I was thinking about connecting them using magnets, maybe 2cm ones which should be strong enough, what do you think? I did the same with very small magnets for Pirsk,Poisk and Rassvet and they work fine, but these modules are much bigger and i don't know how if it will work.
Thanks folks!
