The Canberra is an interesting looking ship and all of us who have sailed on her or seen her liked what we saw . Now I have found her sister . Yes the ORIANA .It's the 1961 edition of the ORIANA in White ! There's a profound bunch of differences between the two ladies though .
The ORIANA has one more deck and a different layout for her stacks . That alone does not detract from their beauty as the last of a long line of smaller , more handsome liners than we have now .
The interesting thing here is that I don't consider any ship at 80,000 tons to be small . The reigning ocean queens of days of yore were about the same and in some cases only slightly more weight ! Larger passenger carrying and stuff , does not necessarily make a queen of the sea !
I will do any CANBERRA that comes along , But one will be modified into the ORIANA so the sisters can be proudly displayed in my home . Papersurprise50
