Another quick build from me, since this week theme is civilian wheels, let's start this thread with a line from Jeremy Clarkson
I went to the internet this week, and i found this...
After following some links i arrived at this Czech site, they offer a wide variety of ground vehicles but being a Mercedes enthusiast the 190 model is what caught my eyes
The model had two options for the windows, blue with some reflection or simply black, i choose the latter
the kit is typical Czech design, similar to ABC magazine layout.
The model erroneously states 190 as an E-class, while actually they're completely new 'massively over-engineered' design of compact executive car which will eventually evolves into C- and CLA-class as we know today (CLS- is based on E-class, and the CL- is based on S-class, particularly the SEC, AFAIK). The error might came from one variant known as 190E in which E stands for Einspritzung/Einspritzmotor (Fuel injection engine) on pre '94 Mercs.
The W201 originally available as 190 and 190E in 1982, fitted with M102.921 and M201.962 engine respectively, later in 1983 190E 2.3 with bigger but less powerful M102.961 engine are released for north american market. Much later in 1985 the 2.3 version were powered by a more powerful M102.985 engine. Final regular petrol engined 190, 190 2.6, rolled out in 1987, fitted with new and slightly bigger inline-6 M103.940 engine.
there were also a special edition for UK and irish market, called the 190LE, and came with 1.8 and 2.0L engine.
The W201 also came with diesel engine, as 190D, powered by OM601 engine and available in 2.0, 2.2, and 2,5L Turbodiesel
And finally, the W201 are most well-known for its 16-valve racing variants, the 190E 2.3-16 and 2.5-16 respectively powered by WAA and WAB engine developed by Cosworth of UK.
