Dear PMs
Having just completed a Halinski BF109, see link below:

I decided I was going to make a diorama display stand for the finished model. I had a look around the local shops in the area at mirrors and picture frames and came up with a cheap frame from the local hardware store.

I removed the stand from the back and I was left with a perfect stand for the diorama.

I next applied PVA glue to the stand and poured on some sand effect from the hobby store.

I next added some shrubbery and debris to give a good effect.

I wanted some characters to give it further realism but had difficulty in acquiring Luftwaffe personnel in desert camo. I managed to find some desert tank crew figures which would have been dressed the same hence I selected them for the display. I chose two of the figures which were painted and put aside for the final assembly.

I came across a few pictures of desert 109s trestle for gun harmonisation. With this in my mind I decided to enhance the diorama further, trestling the aft fuselage for harmonisation.

I found a diagram which depicted the exact trestle. I made the trestle from 1mm card stock, gluing with PVA at the joints. I decided on a dark wood colour for the final finish. I noticed that the airframe was now well off the floor and decided to make some ladders to accompany the trestle.

To finish the model I added the Keine Bombe (drop tank) underneath the fuselage as if it was about to be fitted.
