Hello Gentlemen!
I had a rather free schedule this week, so i guess i'll try to do some repaint of Paperflug's new Ilyushin Il-86, which i'm sure most of you had already see on this thread http://ift.tt/1FZAWhE
The scale would be 1/144, but instead scaling down the 1/72 version 50%, i did the 1/100 at 69.45%
I will repaint the model to China Xinjiang Airlines livery, the only foreign user of Il-86 outside Soviet Union. Three planes were delivered in 1990 and registered as B-2016, B-2018 and B-2019.
The B-2016, according to my research, uses two kind of liveries throughout its service life. The first one has white tail with 'China Xinjiang Air' written in Traditional Chinese, the later has blue tail with Simplified Chinese characters. Because my version of Inkscape only has character for Traditional Chinese so i opted to do the white tail version. Fuselage stripe on both version is similar to Aeroflot livery
One interesting thing to note is the sequence of Chinese characters on right hand side of the airplane is reversed, but the character itself and the
Alphabet name is in normal direction
