Hello Friends :)
For some time I've been interested in making a model of something seen in a book by SF Artist Tim White. In fact, as I've had the book since it came out in 1981, this model could technically be said to have waited 33 years for me to make a start! (I never had the confidence to build it in p*a*t*c when I favoured that medium in a previous life ;))
Using a scan of the image, a profile view is added to the worksheet at the full size I intend to make the model - in this case, about 100mm in length, going by the leaf the thing is sitting on. This is all I need to get started, which is just as well because this is all there is, picture-wise!
I have doodled a few spaceships, which I thought about building, but this project will be interesting for the textures and colours, and the miniature size of some of the components. Some parts will be done straight off in Photoshop (like wings, legs etc) and the more bulky parts done by the old fashioned 'let's just cut this shape out here and see what it looks like' method to make scanning templates.
I hope to make reasonable headway with this, and will of course not forget to keep a weather eye out on Rhaven's progress with the Little Ship BETA build ;)
