Hi all, over the last couple of weeks I have been working on Zio Prudenzio's King Henry V. It is a wonderful little kit. It was pretty fiddly to get together as the instructions were a bit sparse and I couldn't find one on the net made by anyone else to copy from. There is a picture on the download page of a similar knight on a horse which did help a bit.
The horse gave me trouble as I made it in the wrong sequence. I tried to make the body then add the legs and head and so on. In the end I had to cut the horse in half length ways and put the legs on. I then realized that it is intended to make it in halves then glue the halves together. If you do it this way it will go together well and I suspect easily.
I added a piece to the back of the helmet as I didn't like the look of the pattern on the kit one. Henry's real jousting helmet is very different anyhow so I didn't mind changing the helmet a bit.
There is a length of wire in the lance to keep it straight.
I also added strips of yellow paper to highlight the pattern on the horses coat. Otherwise everything is as designed.
I posted one of the pictures below on my facebook page and got some rather nice comments from my non modelling friends, including a like from the teenage daughter of one friend, so it seems to be a good one to introduce paper modelling to others with, just don't suggest a beginner try it, it might be a bit beyond a beginners skill.
