Hi everyone,
It's your wholesome friend Raton here reviewing a case for my fellow stacker and stackers alike Roger aka Rogro.
First, I would like to thank Roger and the Pinstack staff for allowing me to review such a great case. I would also like to thank LifeProof for granting me the privilege to test and rate their case. I will try to be as unbiased as I can.
I have tested the case for a whole day now and needless to say it is awesome; having said this let's jump right into the review:
Let's start by the name: Nuud, I believe the name says it all. The case gives you the perception of not having a case on your phone at all. It is so light and compact that it makes those other cases out there as Hummers the real Hummers not the girlie edition ones. The case I reviewed is the white or snow edition of their line-up. They have a black version and a black version as well.
Above is the package in which the case comes in. As noted on the case it is to protect your iphone from water, snow, sand, shock proof, etc. I have tested all of them today just to make sure.
I ran 5K this afternoon and no issues what so ever. I had some dirty shorts from when I went to the beach yesterday and sprayed it with some sand and no issues either. Snow, the only thing I could think of was some ice cream but didn't work out as my girl had the last one and of course water by testing it under some water briefly not for a long time and not even a drop touched the phone nor did it get in through the case.
Previous versions of this case had the screen protector as part of the housing but there were far too many complaints from users including myself having the same gripe about the screen bubbling up and making it super cumbersome to move your fingers through the screen.
LifeProof appears to have listened to this issue and conjured up this bad boy with no screen
BUT it does come with a screen protector separately in the event that you wish to put on your phone I had my screen protector on the phone when using it today and it didn't affect the case nor the use of it so feel free to either go nude or protect it with your screen protector of choice.
What does the case come with?
It comes with the following:
A headphone extension cord which has a small gasket at the end of it which also screws into the case to prevent water intrusion.
A cloth to keep your screen clean.
A water testing kit (plastic iphone 5 shell)
A screen protector.
The Pros:
The design is very appealing to any gender in my opinion. I have a white iPhone so went with the white version and love it; however, to each its own.
Top quality material. They thought of everything well almost... I'll get into it on the cons.
Slim design and light weight. Some other cases out there are almost just as heavy if not heavier than the phone itself.
Back plate reveals the Apple logo for those of you who like to show off your phone to the haters out there.
Rubberized trimming to absorb your ocassional "Oh S..t!" I dropped phone instances.
Buttons do not get obstructed by the design; matter of fact, makes it more accessible.
The price may seem a little steep but if you analyze everything you want from case at a somewhat affordable price, this is it. I've seen cases out there that go for almost 5 times as much the ones the navy seals use and elite forces but let's not get crazy now.
This is your winner as far as a case is concerned.
The cons:
As I mentioned before the makers thought about almost everything when designing this case but one small issue I was experiencing was the fact that sometimes when using the phone on a conversation it would muffle my voice or sound as I was in a cave chilling with all those jive turkeys making it a little annoying to the other party. Now, it is awesome if you were to use your bluetooth headset but this issue did not repeat itself all the time.
This is the only negative I could find with the case and I looked for flaws...trust me I tried but that is the only one that sort of made me wonder about the case.
Overall rating for this case from the scale of 1 being "holy hell who the hell made this thing, it's trash" to a 10 being "Now this is something I can get jiggy with" I give this case a 9.5 based on the one minuscule issue I found.
Please see some of the pictures I took to see this awesome case: (Please excuse the ones with the iPhone 5 in it, I used my girl's garbage phone to take them) She has a Galaxy S3
Again, I would like to thank LifeProof and Roger and the rest of the Pinstack crew to allow me to do this review.
