Medieval Sword and Big Brothers/Big Sisters

I am building a prop sword for a pirate costume that I'll be wearing in a couple of weeks for a BB/BS bowling fundraiser. The sword is one that I downloaded some time ago from "Sheilas Models". At least that's what the folder that it's stored in says. Anyway I've made a start on it at least. I have the cross piece for the hilt done and added a tube rolled up from a toilet paper roll to make it easier to attach the rest of the handle and the blade. The oil can is not part of the sword.

I've also attached a photo of the pirate inspiration for my costume. The team name is "Vestal's Vengeance". And of course we will be sailing to the event in the pirate ship "Revenge".
