Sealers for Cardstock/Paper

Hey guys, I'm Nick and I'm fairly new about what to use to seal cardstock/paper. I'm used to sealing and then painting foam with mod podge and acrylic.

Right now I have Krylon Matte Finish and I was wondering if it would be a good sealer for paper and if I would be able to spray paint over it and then use the Matte Finish over it.
