Dave's Threads - Images missing! ...soon

Like everyone else on this forum (and forums worldwide) I am experiencing
the same problem as a result of photobucket's attempts at extortion.

In my case, the impact does not occur until sometime next year, when my photobucket subscription runs out...but it will happen.
And my many threads and posts on this forum will start to become less useful.

As images start disappearing, our many tutorials and instructional threads become absolutely useless.
I apologize for that.
Unfortunately I cannot repair threads and posts here.

But because I maintain my own paper modelers forum at http://ift.tt/1Quj8k3
I am an administrator and Mod of that forum
and that means I have the power to access any and all threads, no matter how old,
and update the images in the posts in those threads.

And thats exactly what I have started doing.
I am in the process of swapping every photobucket linked image
with images now stored in my mediafire file storage account.
Its a painstaking process...taking a lot of time go through every post and manually change every photo link.
Access to the address links is not as quick as it was with photobucket, but I am working out a routine and its getting easier.

I figure it will take me close to a year to get all my threads updated.
Somewhere between 3500 and 5000 images depending on how much I can prune threads!
But when I get it done, I will be able to point people to complete tutorials with images intact.
I will also be able to copy and paste many of those tutorials and instructional threads over here.

So, if you find a thread that has broken and missing images, let me know.
Drop by my forum if you need immediate help with images.
Or just let me know which thread to repost over here and I'll do that.

I am hoping that photobucket might see the error in their ways and alter their own plans.
Either make it a lot more affordable for people to continue using their service,
or how about only tax the ones who use a ton of bandwidth?
Some people direct link images to forums and blogs that don't get a ton of traffic.
So even though they link many images, the bandwidth usage is still quite low.
In their case, they shouldn't be paying as much for photobuckets services.
