introduction

Good evening everybody. 'Bonetta' was an early sloop of war and is the user - name I chose, as she was one of the first sailing sloops of war. I am the author of 'The Sloop of War 1650 - 1763'. This is a semi-technical design analysis of these largely unreported and un-rated warships. I am about to start in card modelling using a ShipYard kit of H.M. Sloop Wolf which was launched in 1754. Talk about jumping in at the deep end! Once I have finished that I might have a look at the brig - sloop Lexington.

I would welcome discussion with anyone interested in these small warships from 1650 - 1815.
